How long will it take me to feel better?
The short answer, it depends. The long answer is that therapy is an intimate process whereby I will get to know you and the history of your need, develop a treatment plan, and support you with self-exploration, healing, and growth. This process takes time. It’s possible that you will feel worn out after a session and need time to reflect on what we discussed and take small steps to incorporate change. This is normal and part of the therapeutic process.
Are you the right therapist for me?
The first step is to schedule a 15-minute consultation so that I can get to know what’s going on and you can ask questions to see if I am a good fit for you.
What can I expect from my first appointment?
In our first meeting, we will spend time getting to know what is bringing you to therapy. This might take more than one session. My goal is for you to feel like you have found a safe space to do some emotional work and experience healing.
Do you offer texting support between sessions?
Limited texting support is available. Depending on the information shared, I may require a formal appointment be made to address any issues that arise between sessions.
What is the difference between an LCSW and a Financial Social Worker?
A licensed clinical social worker is a mental health professional who provides counseling services to individuals and/or couples with mental, behavioral, and emotional issues.
A financial social worker is more specific and focuses on helping individuals and/or couples improve their financial well-being by exploring their thoughts, feelings, and attitudes about money, outlining behavior change options so that one can reach financial goals (reducing debt, increasing saving, and building wealth). Often a financial social worker will have additional planning certifications.
What is Financial Counseling?
Financial Therapy is a process informed by therapeutic and financial competencies to help individuals think, feel, and behave differently with money to improve overall well-being through evidence based practices and interventions.
What do financial counseling sessions look like?
In our first meeting, we will spend time getting to know what is bringing you to financial counseling and your financial goals. I will review 3 months of your expenses. Over 2 90-minute sessions she will review your numbers and provide recommendations based on your preferred financial goal.

Insurance may cover financial counseling services as long as there is a DSM-5 diagnosis related to the presenting issue.
